Johanna, originally from Germany, moved to Scotland in the early 90s following her graduation in geology at the University of Frankfurt. After a three-year stay in the United States and her training in TCM (acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine) she returned to Scotland in 2004 where she built up her practice in Inverness and the Isle of Skye. Based on further training her therapeutic approach now focuses on Japanese Acupuncture and massage.

Besides her clinical work Johanna translates textbooks, articles and conference contributions from English into German and vice versa. She also interprets at conferences. She volunteers at Raigmore Hospital in Inverness where she treats cancer patients. In her free time she plays the whistle and goes hillwalking, enjoying the wide open spaces of the Scottish Highlands.
